ASHIF REZA
"This project was about documenting a place and the place I chose was this small strip in Meanwood Farm between the alpacas and the beck. I used to go there to practice roller skating because it was peaceful (and I didn't have the confidence to skate in Hyde Park). I took a small sketchbook, loose papers, a camera and a pencil case and started recording the place in any way possible while I was rollerskating. I never drew while my rollerskates were off - I enjoyed the challenge and adding this constraint it allowed me to be more loose and immediate with my work. I didn't just want to document the place as it was but also its relationship to me and capture movement and that feeling of fun and letting loose."
